Spencer Lab
Overview
The Spencer Lab studies the immunobiology of mucosal tissue eosinophils. Our basic discovery and translational studies seek to reveal mechanistic underpinnings of homeostatic and pathologic functions of eosinophils in health and disease. Overarching goals of these studies are to uncover new insights into disease pathology and novel therapeutic targets that will ultimately improve diagnosis and treatment for patients with eosinophil-associated diseases.
Our work has translational implications for diseases including: eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs; EoE, EoG, EoN, EoC), food allergy, asthma, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis.
